Wednesday Wait Loss 46

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss!

This week I've got something special to show you! I just finished this adorable table runner for Keepsake Quilting! I call the pattern Cherry Churn Dash, and you'll be able to get it from Keepsake Quilting soon.

The pattern features the Sugar Berry fabric collection by flaurie & finch for RJR Fabrics. I mostly stitched in the ditch to quilt it because I wanted the fabrics to shine. I also added a curly vine pattern in the red parts. For the border, I quilted straight lines 1/2" apart.

Here are the quilt details:

I just love the Sugar Berry fabrics! I ended up creating several patterns for the collection. Two more patterns that feature the Sugar Berry collection, Berry Picnic and Picnic Under the Stars. Both are available in my shop.

Well, that's what I've been doing. Let's see what you're up to! First though let's see who made the weekly feature.

Wednesday Wait Loss 45

Hi and welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss!

This week I've been traveling back and forth, bringing my daughter home from college for a weekend at my cousin's cabin, taking her back for finals, and bringing her home again for Christmas break. I can say without hesitation that I'm tired of riding in the car!

But I can't get enough of the snow and wintery weather. It puts me in that Christmas mood!

With all the travel and working at the store, I didn't get a lot of sewing done, but I did applique a cat on my Wicked quilt and get it pin-basted and ready to go! Now to do the same with my I Wish You A Merry QAL quilt.

I'm looking for quilting suggestions for Wicked Envy. What do you all think?

Well, that's what I've been doing. Let's see what you're up to! First though let's see who made the weekly feature.

This week I want to feature Anita @ Domestic Felicity who linked up three Christmasy projects. You'll be in the holiday mood too, after reading her blog posts! Click the images below to read more about each quilt project.

Wednesday Wait Loss 44: Giveaway Winner Announced!

Hi and welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss!

This week I've been busy working on the I Wish You a Merry Quilt Along. If you haven't heard about it, you can click here to learn more.

We've just released the last block in the quilt along, but if you're motivated it's not too late to enter our grand prize giveaway, which is super awesome! I mean like Santa filled his sleigh with quilting treasures and left them all at your house awesome! All you need to do to enter the final giveaway is make one of each of the quilt along blocks and sew them together into a top. The top does not have to be quilted, and you have until January 15th to get 'er done!

Here is my final setting for my quilt along quilt. I've still got to add the outer borders, but man it feels good to have a completed top! You'll find info on Block 12: Christmas Lights here. All the hosts wrote a post about Block 12, providing tips. We also wrote a post with setting suggestions, and revealed our quilt top. If you'd need some setting suggestions for your blocks, click here.

With two quilt along posts and sewing my top together, I've been busy. But I didn't forget to apply to be an Island Batik Ambassador next year! I hope I'm selected again because it was a lot of fun and Island Batik is a great company to work with. This year, as part of the application, they asked us to send them a 12" block. I chose to do my Peppermint Twist block in Island Batiks. These are from the Vineyard collection. Wouldn't this make an awesome quilt?

If you're interested, my Peppermint Twist pattern is available in my book. A variation of that pattern which uses pieced setting triangles is also available separately. That pattern is called Water Vortex. Both the book and the pattern are in my shop.

I really love this block and how it twists when set in a quilt! I hope the block brings me luck with Island Batik because I really want to be an Ambassador again next year.

Now that you know what I've been doing, let's see what you're up to! First, it's time for our weekly feature.

This week I want to feature Alice, who's been missing from our weekly linkups for a few weeks. Alice recently celebrated her daughter's wedding, so she's been quite busy. I was so happy to see her three--count 'em--three link ups last week!

Wednesday Wait Loss 43: Another Bee Block and a Giveaway!

Hi and welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss!

Last week I showed you some blocks that I'd made for my bee mates in Bee Inspired, my online quilt bee. Each month, we take turns being Hive Queen and choose a block the others can make for us. Click here to learn more about the blocks I made for the September and October Hive Queens.

Paige @ Quilted Blooms is Hive Queen for November, and she asked us to make a block she'd designed herself. Paige lives near a great forest of pines, so we wanted something original to remind her of that. Paige calls the block "Planted Pines," and it is oh so cute!

Paige sent us the "ground" fabric and we supplied the rest. There were a few ways we could choose to make our block, as you can see from this second example.

I just sent off Paige's blocks so she should get them soon. Here's what her finished quilt will look like.

Emily @ The Darling Dogwood is our Hive Queen for December, and she gave us a headstart on her block. Emily is a librarian so she's looking for book blocks from us that fit a theme, like her monkey block here. I'm not at all sure what theme I'm going to choose for mine, but I'm thinking about it.

Now that you know what I've been doing, let's see what you're up to! First, it's time for our weekly feature.

This week I want to feature Ann @ Brown Paws Quilting. Ann is also a member of Bee Inspired. Last week, Ann shared the cutest quilt--Dwight the Deer Meets Rudolph. I just love it! The pattern is from Elizabeth Hartman. Be sure to visit Ann's blog to read more about her quilt and her amazing real-life deer adventure.

Congratulations Ann! Here's an "I Was Featured" button for your blog.

Now it's time to link up your WIPs and recent finishes! Don't forget I'm having a giveaway - 6 fat quarters from the Starlight collection by Windham Fabrics. You'll get one chance for every WIP or finished quilt you link up this week and every week in November--up to three chances every week. (US residents only please.)

So link up your projects--up to three! And maybe you'll take home these wonderful fat quarters. I'll announce the winner December 6th.
