Thanks Common Threads Quilt Guild!

It’s Saturday, and where has the time gone? Earlier in the week, I had a giveaway for my upcoming quilt along and boy that was fun! You can check out the winners here and learn more about the quilt along, which starts March 16th, by clicking here.

Since then, I’ve been working on several projects and putting the finishing touches on my Stepping Stones pattern. I’ve been so busy that I forgot to tell you all about my nice visit to the Common Threads Quilt Guild!

I presented a trunk show of my quilts including several new patterns, and the guild members couldn’t have been more gracious. I love visiting different quilt guilds because I make new friends, see new ideas, and walk away refreshed and renewed for my love of quilting. My favorite part of any quilt meeting is Show and Tell, and at Common Threads they showed some very lovely quilts. Next time I’ll have to remember bring my zoom lens and to focus more quickly. Show and tell goes fast and I’m usually admiring the quilts when I should be taking pictures <grin>!

For their block of the month, members are invited to sew up the block in red, blue, and white. The blocks are then made into Quilts of Valor quilts. Isn’t that a lovely idea? And look how many members joined in! I love how charitable and giving quilters are with their time and talent.

Thank you, Common Threads, for inviting me to come visit. I had a wonderful time. Special shout out to Martha Higdon who met me at the door and got me all set up and comfy. Thanks Martha—you’re awesome!

I share my blog posts with these awesome linky parties!

What's Up Wednesday: A Visit to Scrapbasket Quilt Guild and WIPs

What a great Wednesday! Yesterday, I spoke before the Scrapbasket Quilt Guild and it was fun, fun, fun! There were a lot of familiar faces in the audience (members who also belong to QGI) and that was a wonderful surprise.

The Scrapbaskets were so kind and generous! I had such an awesome time. Aren’t quilter’s the best? Special thanks to Carol, Pam, and Debbie who take such good care of me.

I presented a trunk show of quilts from my book, Idiot's Guide: Quilting and they were warmly received I’m happy to say!

I also showed three new quilts: Stepping Stones, Stepping Stones alternate, and Brickyard. Two of the these quilts weren’t even bound yet because they had just come from the quilter. But I simply couldn’t resist sharing my new beauties!

Stepping Stones alternate - just needs binding!

Stepping Stones finished!

Brickyard - just needs binding!

I really love visiting quilt guilds and meeting new people. Most of all, I enjoy Show and Tell, and theirs was especially fun. Thank you, Scrapbasket Quilters, for inviting me to your party!

It’s snowing here today and because it’s Wednesday, I’m focusing on making some progress on my WIPs. I think I’ll cut out the binding for Stepping Stones alternate (I've decided to bind it in green) and sew it on so I can finish the binding tonight. Hopefully, I'll have a finish for Friday!

Next, I think I’ll cut out the pieces for Stepping Stones Mini Rainbow. Here’s the fabric, all picked out!

I'll be working on this one all week, but especially on Friday with my Internet peeps. If you want to join us, check out Friday Night Sew-In.

What are you working on today? Is it snowing where you are?
