Wednesday Wait Loss 141

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

On Friday and Saturday, I spent time volunteering at my quilt guild’s biannual quilt show. I will share more photos in another post soon, but here are some to whet your appetite.

On Monday, I wrote about an early quilt—a flannel rag quilt for my mom. Click here to read about that.

Well that was my week!

Now let's see who made this week's feature

The theme this week is persistence. Without it, some quilts would simply never get made. I really admire those of you who finish quilts after starting them long ago. In fact, that was the reason I started Wednesday Wait Loss—to push us past whatever was making us wait and not finish a quilt—be it a lack of ideas, courage to try new things, stumbling blocks along the way or whatever. So congratulations to those of you who took out that long ago project and made progress!

First up is Kat @ Scrapbox Quilts who shared Dresden Garden, a quilt she started sometime last year. Along the way there were obstacles, but she finally finished it! Isn’t it lovely?

Celine @ Esprit Patch needed just the right circumstances to push her to start working again on a pixelated Hello Kitty quilt after 3 years.

Gail @ Quilting Gail shared a stack and whack quilt she started in 2008. Congratulations on a great finish Gail!

Marsha @ Marsha’s Spot shared several projects, including a penny rug that she recently rediscovered. Let’s encourage her to a fast finish!

Yvonne @ Sew Yummy persevered and finished a quilt even after sewing a ton of blocks wrong! Then she turned around and found the perfect project to use those wrong blocks. Talk about persistence!

What a happy accident! Isn’t this going to be wonderful?

Finally, I’d like to welcome Elsa and Inge @ ElsaRBlog, who shared this adorable fall table decoration. Jump over to their blog for a quick tutorial.

Congratulations ladies! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs or to simply print out and wear with pride! Thank you for supporting my blog!

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

On Saturday, I recapped my goals for September. For once, I didn’t do too bad! You can read about it here.

On Monday, I posted my goals for October. Wish me luck on doing as well on them as I did my September goals! Click here to read my goals and leave encouragement.

I spent the rest of the time sewing up one of the two quilts I’m making for Spring Market. Happy to report that I got a lot done! Can’t show you though because the fabrics are secret.

Well that was my week!

Now let's see who made this week's feature

A number of link ups caught my eye last week. Up first is Alison @ Little Bunny Quilts, who shared her Ribbon Candy blocks. I love the pattern they make!

Carole @ From My Carolina Home shared several projects from last year’s Autumn Jubilee, a month long celebration on her blog. Can’t wait to see to see this year’s projects!

Vasudha @ Storied Quilts shared her answer to the September IB challenge. Can you believe that these are Crossed Canoes blocks? Vasudha cleverly placed color within the blocks to create a three-dimensional effect. Wonderful!

Finally, I’d like to welcome Heather @ Happiest Camper Homestead to our Wednesday Wait Loss family. Heather shared a cute camper potholder tutorial. Be sure to drop by her blog to check out the tutorial and to welcome Heather.

Congratulations everyone! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs or to simply print out and wear with pride! Thank you for supporting my blog!

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

On Thursday, I left for a quilt retreat with my fellow quilters in the Quilters Guild of Indianapolis. I’ll post more photos soon, but here’s a quick shot of the set up. We even had a quilt store there in case we wanted to do any shopping!

On Saturday, I showed off my September Island Batik challenge quilt! This month the challenge was to use a new BOB AccuQuilt GO! die we’d been sent to make a child’s quilt. I received the Spider Web die and make this cute spider quilt.

On Tuesday, I was proud to announce a new blog hop by my Partners in Design. This isn’t a quilt along, and you can make whatever you have time to. It’s our gift to you! Click here to learn more.

Well that was my week!

Now let's see who made this week's feature

The Once Upon a Story blog hop by Marian @ Seams to be Sew continued this week with additional linkups. Boy are they cute!

Each blog featured a block inspired by a fairy tale. Click the photos to visit each blog and see the wonderful quilts inspired by children’s fables.

Alison @ Little Bunny Quilts shared this wonderful table runner. The backing is pieced and allowed her to quilt as you go! Such an awesome idea.

Vasudha @ Storied Quilts shared her Wavy Imelda quilt. This is a charity quilt done one step at a time by her quilt guild. The charity group selects a pattern and kits the quilts, then a member picks up a kit and makes the blocks, then someone else puts the blocks together into a top and so on until the quilt is done. That way, each person can do what they have time to do and more charity quilts get done! Love this idea.

Finally, Gail @ Quilting Gail shared some zippered bags she’d sewn, and a sweet video of her elderly cousin singing an old song about quilting. This is not to be missed, so be sure to visit her blog to see it yourself.

Like last week, we had a lot of people link up for the first time to our Wednesday Wait Loss family. Please welcome Canada @ Stitchinat Home, Beatrice @ Pumpkin Patch, Debra @ Turning My Heart Quilts, and Beth @ Words & Stitches by visiting their blogs and leaving a nice comment.

In addition, Beth @ Words & Stitches has suffered an unbearable loss recently and I know she’d love your kind words and support so please visit and welcome her to our little family.

Welcome ladies! I hope you’ll continue to share your quilt projects with us.

Congratulations everyone! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs or to simply print out and wear with pride! Thank you for supporting my blog!
