Wednesday Wait Loss 120

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

Last week I went to Spring Quilt Market in Kansas City, returning home on Sunday.

My husband came with me and we had a lovely time driving down, stopping at one of our favorite restaurants in Illinois for lunch. We split a large steak and cheese sandwich and had a large cup of seafood chowder each. Yum! The Firefly Grill has a beautiful garden out front and a gorgeous pond out back. Sitting on their glassed-in porch was relaxing and fun, and the perfect set up for a week at Market!

I love finding oddities when I’m on a trip. These kooky garden animals caught my eye at a stop, as did this miniature arch that was outside a motel near the on-ramp. Kind of a fooler, isn’t it? <grin>

We arrived around dinnertime to a beautiful historic house in downtown Kansas City. I stayed there with my friends in the Quilting Collective.

Since the light was fading, we hurried to take photos of Facets, a quilt I finished on the way down. Later I’ll show you the quilt hanging in the Timeless Treasures booth. A pattern for Facets will soon be released with the Tonga Batiks Passport fabric collection for free download.

After driving all day and taking photos of my quilt, it was awesome to sit down immediately to a dinner we’d brought with us. Nothing could be simpler or more welcoming than eating in your own kitchen (even if it’s only on loan <grin>).

This is only a part of the fabulous space Scott and I shared during our visit. I’ll show you more in another installment of my Quilt Market report. I love the mix of modern and vintage! So cute and so inspiring with the mix of textures and colors.

I can’t wait to show you what I discovered at Market! I’ll start a series of posts later this week. Be sure to follow me if you’re interested in the latest trends and a birds-eye view of what it’s like to visit Quilt Market.

Well, that was my week!

Now let's see who made this week's feature

We had two new quilters join us last week, and I’d like to feature them.

First up is Kathleen @ Rose Prairie Quilts and Farm. Kathleen shared her version of Block 1 in The Garden Party. Isn’t it wonderful?

I really appreciate hand-stitching although I don’t do much of it anymore because I never have time and I’m not very good at it.

Kathleen is also participating in a “stitch what you see” challenge which is really intriguing to me. Drop by her blog to learn more.

Next up is Carol @ Quilt Schmilt, who shared the first of three quilts she’s making for a golf course fundraiser. Love this cute fabric, and that view! Awesome.

Congratulations ladies! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs or to simply print out and wear with pride! Thank you for supporting my blog!

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

Last week was mostly spent in the wonderful company of my daughter as she graduated from college and moved back home.

Now I’m on my way to Quilt Market in Kansas City! I can’t wait to hook up with friends and colleagues as we celebrate the best of quilting. Be sure to follow me as I share what I see.

By the way, I finished a Quilt Market quilt last week, and I’ll be showing it to you after I get photos of it hanging in the Timeless Treasures booth. I’ve got three quilts hanging in the Island Batik booth so I’ll be sharing those as well!

Well, that was my week!

Now let's see who made this week's feature

There were a lot of beautiful quilts linked up last week! Here are my favorites.

First up is Anja @ Anja Quilts, who shared the quilt she’s making for the Medallion Magic Quilt Along. Isn’t is wonderful so far? I can’t wait to see how this one progresses.

Next up is Jocelyn @ Canadian Needle Nana, who shared her Photograph blocks, which remind me of a modern version of an Eye Spy block. Jocelyn also shared an intriguing recipe and a funny story about a robin. Be sure to pay her a visit!

Finally, I want to give a shout out to Laura @ Slice of Pi Quilts, who will be having her first booth at Quilt Market this week! Here’s Hydra, one of Laura’s new patterns.

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

On Saturday I recapped my goals for April quilting. How did I do? Not too bad as it turns out! For example, I made some progress on the graduation quilt I’m making for my daughter who’s a big Star Trek fan. Click here to read about my other April projects.

On Monday I published my impossibly long list of things to do for May, including my Island Batik May challenge quilt. Click here to read my list of May projects. Leave me a word of encouragement if you can. <grin>

Yesterday the Partners in Design shared the last block in Segment 1 of our quilt along, the Sew Let’s Quilt Along. It’s a cute quilt shop block! Click here to see my version and to learn where you can download the pattern.

I also published a project you can make with the blocks that have been released so far. To enter our Grand Prize giveaway at the end of the quilt along in September, you have to make either a quilt top or a series of projects that use each of the 12 blocks in the quilt along. Click here to learn more about my project idea for Segment 1.

Well, that was my week!
