June has ended and another month has started. How did I do at getting things done last month?
Make progress on a quilt for my daughter. My goal for the Star Trek quilt I’m making my daughter was to make the first two of the applique blocks. Glad to report that I got them done!
Make a quilt or other project that uses a new to me technique for the June Island Batik challenge. Got this one done! I chose to make a hexagon quilt because I’ve never made one before. I chose to sew the hexagons by machine and I found it pretty easy. Read more about the challenge here.
Make progress on the January Island Batik Getaway Blog Hop challenge My goal was to finish appliqueing all the birds and leaves and I’m happy to report that I got it done! I’m really liking how this is turning out.
As you can see, there are two leaves hanging off the bottom of the quilt. I sewed a backing onto the parts that hang over, and I’m going to finish the quilt by facing it and letting the leaves hang free.
Make two Bee Inspired blocks. I had two blocks to make for my beemates in Bee Inspired and I at least got one of them done! It’s a house block for Janice @ Color Creating and Quilting. She wanted the house block done in a single color and I chose orange because she already had most of the other colors.
The one left undone are two brick blocks for Kate @ Smiles From Kate. Next month!
Write two new patterns for Island Batik. I had three quilts in the Island Batik Spring Market booth, and needed to write the patterns for them. I’m happy report that I’ve gotten two of the patterns done so there’s only one left. Not bad!
Create a pattern for Hancock’s of Paducah. Hancock’s of Paducah has selected one of my patterns to kit and I needed to get the pattern written. Got this one done as well and it’s in testing. I’ll show it off to you as soon as I can.
It wasn’t too big a list so maybe that’s why I got most things done. Let’s see how I did: I had 11 things to make and got 9 of them done. That’s 82%!
I hope I do as good this month. I’ll be publishing my goals on Monday if you’d like to stop back and leave some encouragement.
