Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share what you’ve been working on!
First let me tell you what I've been up to
Mostly I’ve been working on my July Island Batik challenge this week. In fact, that’s why this post is a bit late in going up—I’m working on the binding and will be posting my quilt before the end of the day. Be sure to come back to see my July Island Batik challenge quilt!
Here’s a peek.
On Tuesday I posted my tips for Block 11 of the Sew Let’s QAL. It’s fabric bolts and a great way to feature your favorite fabrics in a block!
Click here to read my post and to learn where you can get the free block pattern.
Last Thursday was the last day in the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop. Click over to view my new table runner pattern and my free tutorial on partial piecing!
Blog Hop Giveaway Winners!
Sarah @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict was the host for the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop and she had a great giveaway—the Wintertide fat quarter collection by FIGO Fabrics. Click over to Sarah’s blog to find out if you won!
I had a giveaway too—a free PDF copy of my new pattern, Peppermint Twist Table Runner. I entered the names of everyone who left a comment on that post and then let Random.org select a random winner.
Congratulations Rosemary Barron! Unfortunately, Rosemary did not leave an email address. So Rosemary I hope you’re listening because you have until midnight EST Tuesday, August 6th to email me so I can send you your free pattern! If Rosemary does not respond I’ll announce a new winner on the next Wednesday Wait Loss.
Well that was my week.
Now let's see who made this week's feature
As usual, several quilt projects caught my eye.
I’d like to start off by sharing the quilts made by two regular followers who don’t often link up because they don’t have blogs. But their quilts are always gorgeous! So hopefully now they will link up more and share with us their awesome talent!
Up first is Susie. Susie is an awesome friend and a beyond talented quilter. Last week she linked up this charming mini wall hanging.
Next is Alice is the best of bestest friends. I’m proud to say that with a little Wednesday Wait Loss encouragement, she finished this stunning Almost Bargello quilt in practically no time.
Thanks so much for supporting my blog gals! Love ya, and I can’t wait to see your next projects.
Next is Karrin @ Quilts Etc, who shared a tutorial on Dresden Plates and this stunning quilt!
Finally is my friend Terri @ Meanderings Along Lizard Creek who shared an Island Batik table runner she made for the Christmas Collection Blog Hop. Gorgeous! I just love how those pastel batiks compliment her vintage Christmas ornaments.
Terri doesn’t always get a chance to link up to Wednesday Wait Loss, but I sure love it when she does!
Congratulations ladies! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs or to simply print out and wear with pride! Thank you for supporting my blog!
I’m not sure how to link up
Need help? Click the Wednesday Wait Loss tab above to get step by step instructions on what to do. You can link up a blog post, a photo from Flickr, Instagram, or Facebook, or a photo direct from your cell phone provided it is low resolution.
Time to link up!
Now it’s your turn to link up your works in progress and recently completed quilts! Here are some quick reminders about the linky party:
By linking up, you give me permission to grab a photo or two to share here on Wednesday Wait Loss.
This linky is all about encouragement, so please visit a few of the links and leave a comment.
If you’re uploading a photo from your phone/computer, leave a comment below that explains your project. And for the rest of us, please reply to a few of these comments leaving words of encouragement for a quick finish.
Please link back to my post somewhere in your blog post or use @inquiringquilter and #wedwaitloss to tag me in your Instagram/Flickr post.
If you link a photo from Facebook, please mention @InquiringQuilter and my Wednesday Wait Loss.
I appreciate you!
As you know, I use InLinkz to run my weekly Wednesday Wait Loss linky party. To link up, you’ll need to sign in using Facebook or Google+ or create a username/password for InLinkz.
I’d really hate to lose you over this change because we have such a great weekly group! If needed, you can send me your images via email and I’ll add them manually.
If you would like to link up a photo from your phone or computer, you need to enter an URL or InLinkz will not let you proceed. Use this URL
Our Next Giveaway!
Our next giveaway is September, so gather up your quilts! Since September is the month most kids return to school, let’s focus on learning. What I’ll be looking for is a quilted project that features some kind of technique that’s new to you, much like my Island Batik June challenge was to me. So for two chances you’ll need to link up your project and leave something in the comments or on your blog post that explains what the technique was and what you learned from trying it.
So dig through your quilts and prepare your stories. Or if you’re so inclined, select something new and try it! We’d love to share in your quilting journey.
Linking to several fun quilty linky parties.
