My April Goals

Today’s my birthday and I’m working at the quilt store surrounded by lovely fabric. If you live nearby, stop in and say hello! Tonight I’ll see my daughter and have a nice dinner.

It’s April and time to list my quilting goals for the month. I wrote this up ahead of time so I didn’t have to do this on my birthday. Maybe I’ll get some time to sew instead.

  • Make progress on a quilt for my daughter. As you know, because of a challenge at the quilt shop where I work, I’m making a Star Trek quilt for my daughter in 12 parts, over the course of a year. The goal for April is to piece the remaining half of the large Enterprise block that’s featured in the center of the quilt..

  • Make a Accuquilt Go baby quilt for the April Island Batik challenge. As you know, the Island Batik Ambassadors got an awesome Accuquilt Go cutter in our first box of supplies. The challenge for April is to design and make a baby quilt using my Accuquilt Go dies. I have the 8” Block Cube, so the block is going to be 8” finished. The rest is up to me!

  • Make progress on the January Island Batik Getaway Blog Hop challenge You can read about the challenge here, and why I haven’t gotten it done just yet. My goal is to get the appliques all fused and edge-stitched. I got a lot of them done last month, but need to finish that. I’d like to commit to getting more done, but this month is pretty busy so I’m trying to also be realistic.

  • Make two Bee Inspired blocks. I’ve shamelessly had this one on my to-do list for months, but I have to get these blocks done and mailed to my bee mates. Wish me luck! Based on past history, I’m going to need it.

  • Write three new patterns for Island Batik. I’ve got three quilts in the Island Batik Spring Market booth, so I need to finalize the three patterns and get them ready to sell to quilt stores who will be so impressed with my quilts when they see them at Market that they will order tons of patterns! <grin>

  • Timeless Treasures recently selected another one of my designs for a free download pattern for Quilt Market. My goal is to get the pattern written and submitted for publishing by mid-April.

They’ve also asked me to make a sample, which I need to get done and quilted before Quilt Market which is in mid-May. So my goal is to get the quilt cut out and pieced before the end of the month.

Cant show you anything yet since the fabric collection I’m using won’t be released until Spring Market.

  • Host two blocks for the Sew Let’s QAL. We’ll be releasing Blocks 3 and 4 in May, and I’m playing host by creating step by step photo tutorials to help you make each of the blocks. Block 3 is released tomorrow, so be sure to come back!

Those are my goals for April! Wish me luck!
