For February, I set the following goals. So how did I do?
Finalize the design for a quilt for my daughter. Always in Stitches (the quilt shop where I work) has a challenge every year where you make a list of 12 projects and then complete one of those projects every month for a year. A lot of us chose a single project rather than 12, broken down into 12 parts. I chose to make a Star Trek quilt for my daughter who is graduating this year.
For January’s challenge, I created a couple of designs. For February, I finalized the design with my daughter and made the final fabric selections. Here are the two original designs, and the final design which is a combination of the two.
Make a Magnificent Mini quilt for the February Island Batik challenge. Got this one done! You can read all about Hugs and Kisses here.
Finish the January Island Batik Getaway Blog Hop challenge—my quilt features the Fortune Teller collection. I got a little further on this one, but it’s not done yet. This was the quilt I was working on when my sister died and so sometimes I find it hard to work on. Other times, I find it healing. I’m come to the conclusion that it’ll get finished when it gets finished. So I’m not putting pressure on myself except that I’m determined that it will get finished.
You can read about my latest update here.
Create some new designs for Island Batik’s Fall Market booth.I submitted several designs and one of them was selected! The fabrics will be shipping soon, and then it’ll be heads down until I get the quilt done and shipped to Island Batik for photographing.
I can’t show you the fabrics since they won’t be released until Fall Market in October, but I can show you the design, since it’s based on my Starcrossed Too quilt which I made using the Island Batik collection, Lavendula.
Since my design was selected, I’ll also be publishing the pattern for release by Fall Market..
Finish my pattern for the Partners in Design’s upcoming blog hop, and sew up a test block. My test block is made and my pattern is done! Can’t show you the block though because this is a mystery quilt along. <wink>
The first block will be released this Tuesday at 12:00 AM EST. My block is Block #6 and it’ll be released May 21st.
If you’re participating in the quilt along, come back on Tuesday to see my tips for making Block #1 and to learn where you can download the pattern.
Change the cover of a new pattern being featured by my local guild to show the actual Guild Raffle Quilt, then print it so the Guild can sell it at the show (and before). Got this one done too! The pattern is Belfast Market, and it’s available through my store. If you use code QGI2019 at checkout, I’ll give half the profits to my guild - the Quilter’s Guild of Indianapolis.
You can read all about Belfast Market here.
Announce my new patterns and add them to my online store.I released a new free pattern in early February. The pattern was designed for Timeless Treasures and it features the Beach is My Happy Place fabric collection. You can read all about it here.
So those were my goals for February. Let’s see how I did:
I had 7 goals and got 6 of them done. That’s 86%! Woot!
I’ll be publishing my March goals on Monday. Come back then to see what I’ll be working on in March!
