Wednesday Wait Loss 84

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss! I hope you’ll share photos of your quilty projects with us! In return you'll get the encouragement you need to stop waiting and to finish your quilt projects.

First let me tell you what I've been up to

Happy news! I’ve finally gotten started on my Happy Go Lucky quilt! This weekend I got my fabric cut for the first two weeks worth of blocks!

For Week 1, I’m to make Greek Cross blocks in various sizes—three 6”, one 12”, and one 18”.

For Week 2, I’m to make Shoofly blocks in two sizes—three 6” and one 9”. I’m labeling everything so I can stay organized. Now that I’ve got some fabric cut, I’m hoping to make real progress on this one. This is for charity (and for longarm practice!) so I’m anxious to get it underway.

I also got the fabrics cut for one of my bee blocks—the one for Jen @ A Dream and a Stitch so hopefully that will get done soon too.

While I was on a cutting spree, I cut out the fabrics for this month’s Island Batik Ambassador challenge, which is star quilts. These fabrics are from the Paisley Dot collection, and that’s a white batik believe it or not!

Well, that was my week! Before we find out what you did this week, let’s take a look at who made this week’s feature.

Let's see who made this week's feature

We had a lot of wonderful linkups last week and I want to feature a few of the best. First up is Jen @ De Jong Dream House, who linked up some great quilts made for teachers and the schools where her son has attended. I’m featuring Jen so you’ll be inspired to link up school related quilts for our special link up next week! More on that later.

Be sure to visit Jen and get inspired!

Next up is Brenda @ Songbird Designs, who linked up some mini-quilts she made for a special exchange. Brenda is new to Wednesday Wait Loss, so drop by her blog and welcome her! I’ll let her tell you all about the quilts and the other exciting things she has going on.

Finally this week is Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting, who shared these adorables she calls”bowl fillers.” You simply have to jump over and see each one in detail!

Congratulations Jen, Brenda, and Wendy! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs.

Our Next Special Link Up is Coming!

Our next special link up is September 19th, and we're celebrating Back to School quilts. "Back to School" can meaning anything as long as you can link your quilt to the theme with a good story! Me, I'm thinking apples, books, numbers, letters, graduation quilts, chalk boards, and so on.

Be sure to jump over to Jen’s blog to see her school quilts and get inspired. Be sure to gather your quilt and your stories of school experiences for our special September link up!

Time to link up your works in progress and recent quilty finishes!
