My September Goals

It's time to establish my goals for September. I haven't been doing too well on my goals lately, but at least I have them I guess. I'm going to try to get more goals done this month. Wish me luck!

Here are my goals for September:

  • Make the June block for Bee Inspired. Jen @ A Dream and a Stitch was the June queen and she said we could make her any block. I think it's that freedom that's been holding me up. Once I make a plan, things seem to go faster. Anyway, I've decided to make her one of my block designs, using the color palette she's chosen.

  • Make the July block for Bee Inspired. Susan @ Seven Oak Street Quilts was the July Queen and she wants a mushroom block in these colors. I don't have a lot of modern fabrics like the ones shown, but I'm sure I can come up with something.

  • Make the September block for Bee Inspired. We have two queens for September, so you can see why I must make my bee blocks a priority. Irene @ Patchwork and Pastry is one of the queens, and she'd like a skinny log cabin block in white and red.

  • Make the second September block for Bee Inspired. Janice @ Color Creating and Quilting is the other September Queen for Bee Inspired and she'd like a block that combines her two favorite blocks--a house block and a star block. She wants house blocks that are all in one color, like these. Aren't they cute?

  • Quilt samples for an upcoming workshop. My sewing machine is back from the shop so quilting my Peppermint Twist and Water Vortex samples is back on my to-do list.

  • Make a quilt for the Island Batik challenge for September. The challenge for Island Batik Ambassadors for September is to make a quilt with stars in it. I'm looking forward to this one! I've got a design and a fabric collection for my quilt--Paisley Dot!

  • Write up a few new patterns for quilts I've designed. I'm going to be featured at Always in Stitches in October (the shop where I work) and there are a few quilts I'd like to have in the trunk show so I'm writing up patterns for them. This will be so cool!

  • Cut fabrics for my Happy Go Lucky quilt. Sherry @ Yellow Cat Quilts is hosting the Happy Go Lucky sew along, so I need to get the fabrics cut and make a few blocks this month.

  • Make the two September blocks for the Fall into a Quilt Along One of these is already done because it was released on September 4th--a Postage Stamp Turkey. Click here to learn where you can get the pattern. Then come back on September 18th to get the next block. I wonder what it will be...<grin>

I've got to do better on my September goals so give me some encouragement if you can. I'm going to be away a bit in October to celebrate my anniversary so I need to knock off a big chunk of my to-do list.
