Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. Please share your quilty works in progress and recent quilt finishes with us!
First let me tell you what I've been up to
Last week I concentrated on getting my PIGS done (Projects in Grocery Sacks, or WIP) for my quilt store challenge. I'm happy to report that the applique is all done on O Tannenbaum! Read all about it here.
Checked one thing off my August list right away--Block 7 for the Fall into a QAL. You've just got to see this perfect fall block. Click here to read all about it.
That's about it! What have you been doing?
Let's see who made this week's feature
Got a lot of people I want to feature this week for various reasons. Up first is Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life, who's been absent for a while from Wednesday Wait Loss. Welcome back, Wendy! Wendy linked up a beautiful table runner that languished as a UFO for too long. Congratulations on a great finish! Jump over to Wendy's blog to see the glamor shots she took of this lovely table runner.
Next is Anita @ Domestic Felicity who shared this quilt, her first ever machine quilted quilt! Anita is looking for tips on how she can improve her quilting skills. Jump over to her blog and show her your support!
Next is Mary, who doesn't have a blog but who regularly shares her quilts with us. Last week, Mary shared a four patch stack and whack block with us. She's made 30 of them and is working on the alternate blocks for her quilt. Didn't know you could make stack and whack using a simple four patch? Well, Mary did! Mary is the queen of stack and whack, and the results are always beautiful. Thanks Mary for sharing your quilt with us!
Next, I'd like to feature Jen @ De Jong Dream House who linked up a blog post about her appearance on Pat Sloan's podcast! Isn't that cool? If you follow Wednesday Wait Loss, then you've probably seen Jen's version of Pat's Grandma's Kitchen Quilt. Jen made Pat's quilt in tribute quilt to her grandmother. If you missed Jen's series of posts about the quilt, you have missed an incredible journey in cloth. Jump over to her blog to learn more.
Finally, I just can't help but share this adorable photo of the daughter of a friend of Suz @ DesertSky Quilting. Wednesday Wait Loss is all about encouragement, especially with a new quilter. Well, this is the youngest new quilter I think we've ever had! Here she is, holding her Junior Row by Row that she sewed mostly by herself! Don't you just love it? Jump over to Suz's blog and give this little girl the congratulations she deserves!
Congratulations Wendy, Anita, Mary, Jen, and "Princess"! Thank you so much for sharing your quilt projects with us. Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs.

Don't forget to gather your quilts for the August special link up!
Our next special link up will be August 23rd! Yep, the Wednesday Wait Loss link up that week will be on a Thursday. Why the date change? Well, I just found out that I'll be hosting my stop on the Great Outdoors Blog Hop for Island Batik on Wednesday, August 22nd. So I've moved Wednesday Wait Loss to Thursday for that week.
I hope you won't mind stopping by two times that week! There'll be prizes for the Blog Hop and for our special Wednesday Wait Loss linkup, so don't miss it!
For the August special Wednesday Wait Loss link up, we're celebrating the State Fair! Gather quilts that remind you of anything at the fair--quilts that have won ribbons, quilts that feature the things you might find at a fair--hogs, chickens, cows, horses, and other farm animals; ferris wheels and other carnival rides; games of chance; tractors and other farm equipment; and state fair food like lemonade, deep fried everything, and of course, corn! Basically, if you can think of a story that links your quilt to the State Fair in some way, it'll get two chances to win an Island Batik Stash Builder Roll! Other quilts that are linked up will get one chance.
Remember, the special State Fair themed Wednesday Wait Loss linkup will be Thursday, August 23rd.
Linking to several fun quilty linky parties.
