Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. I hope you'll share what you've been working on! We love to ooh and ahh over quilts and to encourage quilters to stop waiting and finish quilts!
First let me tell you what I've been up to
Last week I showed you a new pattern I've written for Dear Stella. I think it would make the perfect quilt for a little boy! Read all about it and how to get the pattern here.
Also, I showed you a sneak of my Island Batik challenge quilt for this month. The Island Batik Ambassadors are participating in a blog hop all month. My day is Wednesday August 22nd. Each Ambassador is having a giveaway of lovely batiks and Island Batik is having a huge giveaway! To learn how to enter to win, read my Monday post.
Last week I also made a fabric pull for my Happy Go Lucky quilt. This is a fun little sew along is being hosted by Sharon @ Yellow Cat Quilt Designs. I'm a little late to the party, but I since I'm sponsoring a prize I decided to join in and make a charity quilt of it. After all, it's Happy Go Lucky so I'm not feeling pressured to keep a schedule. <grin>
Yes, there are prizes, so if you start now, just make the block for Week 3 and link it up. Then go back and make the earlier blocks for the quilt at your own pace. Here's a photo of what the finished quilt will look like. I plan on making mine into a charity quilt so I can practice longarming on it.
That's about it! What have you been doing?
Let's see who made this week's feature
As usual, I've got a lot of people I want to feature this week for various reasons.
Up first is Cherie @ Cherie's Quilting Journey. Last week, Cherie shared her monthly goals last week (not quite as long a list as mine, but quite ambitious!) so please drop by and give her some encouragement.
Next is Gail @ Quilting Gail, who shared the current block from the Fireburst Mystery quilt and tons and tons of finished quilts! Gail basted them up a few months ago in a basting marathon, then quilted them all in another marathon.
Gail keeps track of her UFOs so she knows where that elusive target is at all times. I might consider doing the same thing but knowing that I have 4,000 WIP would probably not be conducive to encouraging me to finish them. <grin>
Drop by Gail's blog and give her the applause she deserves for such an amazing feat!
Next is Karen @ Tuna Quilts, Travels, and Eats. Karen is on her usual jaunt around Minnesota for a shop hop, and her posts are fun to read! One shop she visited lately (the Quilting Grounds) I simply had to share---it's a combination quilt store and coffee shop. Being a coffee lover, this is my kind of shop! <grin>
Finally, there is Deana @ Daughters of Dorinda. Deana shared her progress on a family Round Robin quilt. If you are as intriguided by this concept as I was, you just gotta read this post!
Congratulations Cherie, Gail, Karen, and Deana! ! Thank you so much for sharing your quilt projects with us. Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs.
Time to link up your works in progress and recent quilty finishes!

Reminder: Next week our link up will be on Thursday, and it's a special one!
Yep, our next special link up will be August 23rd! Why the date change? On Wednesday, August 22nd, I'll be hosting my stop on the Great Outdoors Blog Hop for Island Batik. So our usual link up has been moved to Thursday for that week.
I hope you drop by on Wednesday anyway because the blog hop is awesome and I think you'll like my quilt. And...I'm having a giveaway. <grin>
I'm also having a giveaway on Thursday because next week's Wednesday Wait Loss is a special link up!
For the August special Wednesday Wait Loss link up, we're celebrating the State Fair! Gather quilts that remind you of anything at the fair--quilts that have won ribbons, quilts that feature the things you might find at a fair--hogs, chickens, cows, horses, and other farm animals; ferris wheels and other carnival rides; games of chance; tractors and other farm equipment; and state fair food like lemonade, deep fried everything, and of course, corn! Basically, if you can think of a story that links your quilt to the State Fair in some way, it'll get two chances to win an Island Batik Stash Builder Roll! Other quilts that are linked up will get one chance.
Remember, the special State Fair themed Wednesday Wait Loss linkup will be Thursday, August 23rd.
Linking to several fun quilty linky parties.
