Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss where you can share your quilty works in progress and recent finished quilts with us. This week is a special Wednesday Wait Loss, but more on that later. First, let me tell you what I've been up to.
Let's see. Last week I took time to celebrate Father's Day with my daughter and my dh Scott. The weather was awful--record breaking heat, high humidity and poor air quality--and Kate's plans to take her father to the antique auto races or to an outdoor art fest turned to dust. Since it was so hot and there were air quality warnings out, we decided to go to a movie instead. We started the day with an awesome breakfast (eggs benedict), saw Incredibles 2 then came home to a wonderful dinner (gourmet hamburgers with gouda, arugula, and bacan jam) and dessert (butterscotch cream pie). Yum!
On Thursday I spoke to my Guild. My presentation was called "Try It, You'll Like It: Becoming a Brave Quilter." I'm planning a separate post where I'll tell you all about it, so right now I'll just say I had a lot of fun!
Quilting-wise, I've cut out the pieces for Memory Bear, one of the two Funky Friends I'm making for the Fall Market Island Batik booth and started sewing it together. Can't show you that though--secret project until Market.
I've also cut and started piecing the April block for my Bee Inspired beemate, Emily.
That's what I've been up to this week.! Let's see who made this week's feature.
This week I want to feature geese! Denise @ For the Love of Geese finished her Mosaic Quilt Along top and it's gorgeous! Visit her blog to see this quilt in its entirety. You won't be disappointed!
Meanwhile, Cherie @ Cherie's Quilting Journey is testing two patterns for Denise and she showed them on her blog. For the love of geese indeed!
Finally, I'd like to feature Kathleen @ Kathleen McMusing, who shared her June Island Batik challenge top and her new website! Let's support her efforts to improve her blog by visiting.
Congratulations girls! Thank you so much for sharing your quilts with us. Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blog.
Time to link up! This week, it's a special link up featuring flower quilts--finished or not. I thought flower quilts would be a great way to celebrate June, so help me out and share your flower quilts with us.
Let me start by sharing some flower quilts with you!
Here is an art quilt I call Eleanora's Iris. It's based on a photo of some iris in my mother's garden.
To encourage participation in this special Wednesday Wait Loss, I'm having a giveaway just like before. You'll get one chance to win one Island Batik Stash Builder Roll for every quilt you link up--two for every flower quilt!
If you don't have any flower quilts to share, you can share whatever you're working on. I'll announce the winner next week on Wednesday.
A Stash Builder Roll is a roll of coordinated 2-1/2" x WOF strips. Use them in your next jelly roll project!
