Hi! Hope you had a lovely Easter!
Well, Ann said we needed to make the block look like a dog in our life, so I modified the block to add long floppy ears like my childhood dog, Shamrock.
Here's my floppy eared dog block. You'll find the directions for my modifications here.
Well, after I made my block for Ann and blogged about it, one thing led to another then Lorna heard about the modifications I'd made and endorsed them on her blog! Well, other people heard about the modifications of course and started making my version of the dog block in addition to Lorna's. The other day, I got a wonderful email from Karen Graham, who shared her floppy eared dog quilt with Lorna and me.
Isn't it cute? The only modification Karen did to my block was to fussy cut the eyes so the dots in the fabric formed perfect pupils. Isn't that a great idea? Karen told us that she used the layout from "Toy Trucks" @ Virginia Quilter for her quilt.
Thanks Karen for sharing your quilt with us!
Oh! Before I go, I want to encourage you to share photos of your Easter and Spring quilts on my special Easter Wednesday Wait Loss!
Happy Easter to you! We had a sunny day for egg hunting, then we had a beautiful snow. What an April Fools! <grin>
Oh, oh! Almost forgot to tell you. My friend and fellow Island Batik Ambassador Alison @ Little Bunny Quilts is kicking off her new Blocked Rainbow Quilt Along today, and guess what! If you make the first block by Sunday and post it on social media, you might win her giveaway which this week is a free PDF pattern from yours truly. <grin> Be sure to click over and pay Alison a visit!
