My December Goals

I suppose I should make my first goal publishing my goals before the second week of the month. <grin>

For December, I’d like to:.

  • Make my bee blocks for Bee Inspired. I’ve got some big goals for December, but even so I’m hoping to make at least some of these blocks by the end of the month.

  • Make a quilt for the Island Batik challenge for December. December’s challenge is to make a whimsical and wonky quilt. Got my idea, now to carve out the time to make it!

  • Create three new quilts for Island Batik. Three of my designs will appear in the Spring/Summer 2019 catalog, so I need to make three quilts for their Spring Market booth and a traveling trunk show by the end of December. I’ve already made progress on this goal, with everything patterned and cut. Block making is underway.

I love the colors in this collection! Can’t show you the actual fabrics because they are not yet released but aren’t the colors gorgeous?

Finally, Always in Stitches (the quilt shop where I work) has a challenge every year where you make a list of 12 projects you want to get done, then you complete the chosen project each month. A lot of us chose a single project rather than 12, broken down into 12 parts. My daughter is graduating from college next year, and without this extra push I didn’t think I would get around to making her a special quilt. So that’s my project. For our January 4th meeting, I need to have a finalized design. So I’m putting that on my December Goals list.

As you can see, she’s a space nerd. The fabrics are Star Trek and the color palette is bold red, yellow and blue. This is an exciting collection of bold graphic prints and that’s the challenge. How do I get them all to play well together?

Shorter list, so I’m hoping I’ll make progress on it. But the goals are big, so….

Wish me luck on my December goals!
