Wednesday Wait Loss 95

Welcome to Wednesday Wait Loss. I can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on!

First let me tell you what I've been up to

Last week I celebrated Thanksgiving with my family., complete with a big fat turkey, pecan and pumpkin pies, and all the trimmings.

After filling our faces, my sisters, nieces, nephews, husband and daughter go Black Friday shopping. For me it’s not about the bargains, but about the people watching. To celebrate all the weird stuff we see on Black Friday each year, my daughter decided to create Black Friday Bingo. The first one of us to find the things listed on our card in a row, column or diagonal won a prize!

We had so much find looking for things that matched our cards. What fun! My sister Pat couldn’t go, so we all texted her photos of the things we were finding so she could check them off too. We sure had a lot of laughs!

I was also busy last week printing and shipping patterns to Annie’s Catalog, a new distributor of some of my patterns. To celebrate, I’m having a pattern sale this week only. Use the code FIBERMONDAY in my shop to get 20% off all patterns!

Finally, this month’s Island Batik challenge (log cabins) is almost done, so look for a post about it before month’s end.

Well that was my week.

Before we find out what you did this week, let’s take a look at who made this week’s feature.

Let's see who made this week's feature

Last week was our special Thanksgiving linky party, and we had a lot of great linkups as a result.

Lisa Marie shared tons of great Thanksgiving inspired quilts. If you can, please visit her on Flickr and leave her a nice compliment. If you don’t have a Flickr account, leave her a comment here! (Click on the images to visit her Flickr post.)

Judy @ JBigg;s Scrap Pieces in Kentucky linked up a blog post that was full of Thanksgiving joy and inspiration. You simply have to see her beautiful holiday table. Gorgeous!

Finally, I’d like to extend a Wednesday Wait Loss big welcome to Sonalee (Leena) @ Creative Instincts Weblog. Leena shared this lovely baby quilt. Please drop by her blog and welcome her to our Wednesday Wait Loss family.

Congratulations ladies! Here's an I Was Featured badge for your blogs or to simply print out and wear with pride! Thank you for supporting my blog!

So who won the giveaway?

Last week on Wednesday Wait Loss, if you linked up a Thanksgiving quilt then you got two chances to win. If you linked up any other quilt, you got one chance. Up for grabs was an Island Batik Stash Buster roll—-a roll of several 2-1/2” x WOF strips.

As usual, I assigned numbers to each entry and then let Random.org select the winner.

Congratulations Lisa Marie! Send me an email with your postal address and I’ll get your prize in the mail to you.

As a reminder, some of you who have won previous months have not emailed me your address (or I’ve misplaced it <grin>). So if you haven’t gotten your prize yet, please email me as soon as you can. Thanks!

Our final special link up of the year is next month

Our next special Wednesday Wait Loss will be on December 19th and we’ll be celebrating Holiday quilts! I know it’ll be a hectic week for all of us, but I hope you’ll take the time to stop by my blog and share your Holiday (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year’s) quilts and stories.

Do you like these special link ups? Let me know in the comments.

I’m thinking about continuing this next year, but shaking it up a bit. Please let me know what you’d like to see.

Time to link up!

Now it’s your turn to link up your works in progress and recently completed quilts! Here are some quick reminders about the linky party:

  • This linky is all about encouragement, so please visit a few of the links and leave a comment.

  • If you’re uploading a photo from your phone/computer, leave a comment below that explains your project. And for the rest of us, please reply to a few of these comments leaving words of encouragement for a quick finish.
