September Goals: Recap

It's time to establish my goals for September. I haven't been doing too well on my goals lately, but at least I have them I guess. I'm going to try to get more goals done this month. Wish me luck!

Here are my goals for September:

  • Make the August block for Bee Inspired. Karen @ Tun-Na Quilts, Travels, and Eats was the August queen and her block looks like this. Making this block is next on my list. I can’t wait to pull oranges from my stash for this cutie.

  • Make the September block for Bee Inspired. We had two queens for September. Irene @ Patchwork and Pastry wants a skinny log cabin block in white and red. I haven’t started work on this one but I hope to pull the fabrics soon.

  • Make the second September block for Bee Inspired. Janice @ Color Creating and Quilting was the other September Queen for Bee Inspired and she wanted a house block like these. Again, I didn’t get this one done but bee blocks remain a priority with me.

  • Quilt samples for an upcoming workshop. Alas, my Peppermint Twist and Water Vortex samples remain on my list as I work at creating a pattern for them.

  • Make a quilt for the Island Batik challenge for September. The challenge for Island Batik Ambassadors for September was to make a quilt with stars in it. I had so much to do at the end of the month that I’m quite proud I sneaked this one in!

  • Write up a few new patterns for quilts I've designed. I'm being featured at Always in Stitches in October (the shop where I work) and so I wanted to write up some new patterns for my quilts. I’m happy to announce that I got two new patterns written and tested by the end of the month! Yeah, I’ve been busy. <grin> I’ll be making some official announcements soon with a limited time discount on the patterns so be sure to watch my blog.

  • Cut fabrics for my Happy Go Lucky quilt. Sherry @ Yellow Cat Quilts is hosting the Happy Go Lucky sew along, and as one of the prize sponsors, I wanted to quilt along. This month I’ve gotten quite a few blocks done! You can read more about it here and here.

  • Make the two September blocks for the Fall into a Quilt Along The first of these blocks was released on September 4th--a Postage Stamp Turkey. On September 18th we released the next block — Patchwork Pickles.

So let’s recap how I did.

Let’s see. There were 12 projects to complete in September, and I got 7 done. That’s 58% Not too bad!

Come back on Monday when I establish my goals for October.
