Welcome to my Wednesday Wait Loss, where you are encouraged to stop that waiting and finish your works in progress!
The weather here has been up and down. This past weekend, it was like spring. Today, brrrrr! Tomorrow it's going to be back up to 50 degrees again, with snow this weekend. Here's my daughter, posing for me after we took a walk through the last big snow.
Anyway, I've been busy working on my modern version of an Irish Chain quilt, sewing together the blocks I received from my online bee--Bee Inspired. Some people sent two blocks (thank you!) and Alice, one of my best friends in real life was inspired to make me one too. So I ended up with 15 blocks! I made three more and set them on-point.
I call this pattern Irish Eyes.
I've still got to add borders to my quilt top, but it's looking good! Here's the plan.
The flying geese will be scrappy, just like the blocks. I think I only need to make a bazillion. <wink>
I've also started on a sample for the shop. When they put this out in the employee lunchroom's Volunteer basket, I snatched it up. Seems natural that I'm drawn to a project involving Island Batiks, doesn't it? Her name is Hannah the Hedgehog.
Speaking of Island Batik, the month-long Island Batik Four Seasons Blog Hop is still going on and if you like batiks and giveaways, you won't want to miss it. Click here to see what I made with the new Blue Moon collection. Be sure to leave a comment and an email address to enter my giveaway to win a charm pack of Blue Moon.
Also, at the end of the post, you'll find a list of the Island Batik Ambassadors participating in the hop. Visit each one to enter their giveaways and to see the batik collection they're featuring. And don't forget to use the Rafflecopter at the bottom of the post to enter the Island Batik giveaway! They are giving away four precut collections so you'll want to enter for a chance to win.
Well, that's what I've been up to. Let's see what you've been doing. First though let's see who made the weekly feature.
This week I want to feature my bestie Alice who recently finished her I Wish You a Merry QAL quilt. Congratulations Alice!
The quilt along was so much fun we're going to have another one. We're still working out the details, but be sure to follow my blog to hear the news when it breaks.
