Hi! Welcome to Furry Friday! Furry Friday is brought to you by Island Batik and the PetFinder Foundation Each week during Furry Friday, I’ll present a couple of furry cuties just waiting for someone like you to adopt them.
First, my thanks to The Quilt Pattern Magazine, this week’s Furry Friday sponsor and the chief sponsor of the TQPM Small Kennel Quilt team. More about that and how you can help make kennel quilts in a minute.
Before I introduce this week’s rescues, let me introduce mine! Scott and I just adopted Zora, the sweetest, most lovingest rescue kitty you could ever meet. Next week is my week to feature my past and present pets, so I’ll wait until then to tell you more about dear Zora. For now, let’s take a look at our featured adoptables.
Our first cutie this week is Tigress. Tigress is a six year old sweetie pie with a lot of affection to give. She’s also quite beautiful, with usual coloring. Tigress is a tri-colored Tabby who would make the perfect addition to your home.
Next up is Crysta. Originally, Regis was the dog that was going to be featured this week, but he got adopted! Let’s see if we can make Crysta and Tigress as lucky. Crysta, like Tigress, is also tri-colored—a German Shepard mix with unusual features. She is quite friendly after she gets to know you. Calm and easy going, Crysta would make a wonderful companion.
If you find that you can’t adopt either of these furry cuties, you can still help by making kennel quilts, like the ones shown here that I made with Island Batiks. Aren’t they wonderful? Kennel quilts are designed to fit inside small pet carriers to provide an extra layer of comfort to animals rescued after a disaster. If you want to learn how, click here.
Finally, I want to remind you about a virtual Kennel Quilt Retreat sponsored by TQPM (The Quilt Pattern Magazine) and it’s Small Kennel Quilt Team. TQPM will be hosting an online kennel quilting weekend March 18th-19th. Click here for more info.
I'm going to be quilting this weekend as well in honor of National Quilting Day here in the US and Worldwide Quilting Day around the world. Please join me! I'll be posting to my Inquiring Quilter Facebook group throughout the weekend, and I'd love for you to join me online and share what you're working on.
I hope to see you online this weekend for National/Worldwide Quilting Day! If you can't make it, come back next Friday for Furry Friday when I will feature two more rescues. Here are the Island Ambassadors who are hosting Furry Friday this week.
Before you go, check out my Wednesday Wait Loss. Link up your WIPs and get the encouragement you need to finish them off. We’ve got a great group going and I hope you’ll join us by linking up.
