Wednesday Wait Loss 6

Welcome back to Wednesday Wait Loss! I had a busy week. My daughter was home from college on Spring Break so we spent a lot of time together. I also had a blog hop with the cutest mini quilt, last week’s Wednesday Wait Loss, and Furry Friday so my week was pretty full. But first, my apologies for this post being so late.

There was another reason I was late posting this morning, but you’ll have to come back for Furry Friday to hear about that. <wink>

Anyway, I didn't get much further with Besties (it still needs to be bound) but I did piece, quilt and bind my version of Quilter’s Laundry Day, the quilt pattern featured in the blog hop. To see the other versions, be sure to check out my post for the links to the other participating blogs.

I also made progress on Kate’s mini quilt, getting it all quilted. To keep it secret from Kate, you have to click the link to see it. I'm not going to show you much though, because I'd like to keep that for the big reveal.

Next up for me is Kate's bee block. It's a Christmas block, so I've been digging around in my holiday fabric pile. Here's my tentative fabric pull. The block requires a little brown and gray, so I'll be adding to this. As you can see, I love playing with fabric! I mean, I'm only making one block and not a whole quilt so I've got a lot more fabrics here than are needed.

Did I mention that the blog is improv? Wish me luck with that! I'm a planner not an improv-er.

This week for Wednesday Wait Loss I want to feature Anita Jackson @ Domestic Felicity. Anita linked up two projects last week. The first one was this adorable owl quilt. What a wonderful finish! This will make some wee one so happy.

Anita also linked up this shamrock block. I’m Irish so I was very attracted to this. Can’t wait to see where this goes!

Congratulations Anita, and be sure to grab the Featured button below for your blog.

Now let’s see who won this lovely charm pack from Windham Fabrics. I assigned a number to each entry from Weeks 3 to 5, and gave those that entered every week an extra five chances. We ended up with 43 chances in all! After numbering all the entries I let Random.org do its thing.

Congratulations Anita! This must be your lucky week! Tell me...is it your birthday too? <grin>

Your charm pack will soon be on its way to you--just email me your address. I hope this little giveaway has made Wednesday Wait Loss a fun weekly habit for the rest of you. I can't wait to see all the linkups this week!

Last week we tried voting and well, that didn’t go over. Only one quilt got a vote—Mary’s watermelon quilt. It sure is cute but I guess voting isn’t something you like to do? Or did ya’ll forget? <grin> I definitely had some issues with last week’s linky so that may very well be the reason for only one vote being cast. In any case, we’ll try it one more time this week and if it’s a no go, I'll drop the idea for now.

So…the linky will be open until Friday, March 18th at midnight EST. After the linky closes, return here to vote. The voting will be open from Saturday until Tuesday, March 21st at midnight EST. To vote, you click on the heart that appears in the upper left corner of an image. Use your six votes to send hearts of encouragement to your fellow quilters.

You can also send encouragement by visiting at least a few of the links and leaving a comment. Please comment here too—remember, some of the people linking up are uploading a photo and not linking to a blog post, so their links won’t be clickable. Leaving a comment here for them is really encouraging and thoughtful.

Time to link up! If you need help, click here for detailed steps. If you run into problems linking up, just email me your photo and a link to your blog/Instagram and I’ll enter the link manually.

  • Link up a photo of a quilty WIP (work in progress). If you’ve made progress or have finished a project you’ve linked up previously, feel free to link that up as well.
  • You can link up a photo from a blog post, Instagram, Flickr, or upload one directly from your computer if you don’t happen to be a blogger or Instagram/Flickr user.
  • If you upload a photo, please explain your project by leaving a comment.
  • After linking up, encourage the other participants by visiting a few of the linkable photos and also by commenting on a few of the comments below from people who upload directly from their computers (You can identify the non-bloggers easily because their photos won’t be linkable, or will link right back here to this page.)
  • Please link back to my post somewhere in your blog post or use @inquiringquilter to tag me in your Instagram/Flickr post.
  • By linking up, you are giving me permission to grab a photo from your post and to feature you next week. Featured photos are linked to your original post.

Remember: The linky will be open until Friday, March 17th at midnight EST. On Saturday, the voting will open and will remain open until midnight EST on Tuesday, March 21th. Please join us and let’s finish those WIPs!
