I’m Back, and Look What I Got in the Mail!

Hi everyone! You probably noticed that I’ve taken a bit of a break. Honestly, I have hit a bit of a slump and I’ve been feeling somewhat dispirited. I suppose this happens to everyone, especially those of us in a creative medium like this, but knowing that doesn’t help much. Ideas were flowing, but I just didn’t seem to have the energy or the will to take advantage of it.

As you know, my daughter Katerina will be heading back to college soon so maybe that’s it. Nobody told me that sending her off for year two would be harder than sending her off as a freshman, but somehow it is. I will miss her sweet smiling face and her artistry, encouragement, and sense of humor.

I will also miss my quilter friend Terry, who is moving several states away. Terry is artistic, innovative, and fun. I’ll miss her shining spirit.

I also seem to be on a downward trend for subscribers. It seems like every week I lose one of you guys. And as you might have gathered, goodbyes aren’t easy for me as each one is painful.

I don’t know whether or not all these goodbyes are to blame for my slump, but I do know it’s time to get myself off the floor and back to blogging and quilting. I got something in the mail the other day, and that helped raised my spirits. Who doesn’t love surprises in the mail?

I Spy fabrics!

I was in an I Spy fabric exchange a little while back and man it seemed to take forever for the fabrics to arrive, and when they did, it was like Christmas! Couldn’t have come at a better time. Look at all these cute prints!

I don’t have any plans for these fabrics just yet…got a lot of other projects that take priority. But just looking through these happy, fun fabrics is enough for now.

Happy weekend, everyone! Thanks for your continued support. It means the world.
