One of my goals this year was to connect with the online quilting community--both quilters and bloggers--and find support for this thing I love.
I’m a big believer in quilt bees, and I belong to two—the Northside Needlers and the Tangled Threads. In both bees I have found great friends with whom I can share my love of quilting and my life. My beemates and I have worked on quilts and quilting projects together, gone on quilt retreats and shop hops, attended quilting workshops, and shared our quilting achievements and our quilting frustrations. In fact, it was my beemates I called on when I needed help completing the projects in my book under a tight deadline. My beemates and I have shared more than quilting--we’ve also shared our lives—both the ups and the downs. Having friends like that has been so very special and I know I'm blessed.
Online though, I haven’t made that same connection to other quilters. Close, but not quite. But that’s all changing I think, thanks to the 2016 New Quilt Bloggers group.
The New Quilt Bloggers group was formed to help new quilt bloggers like me not only improve the design and content of our blogs, but to build support among our fellow bloggers out there in the blogosphere. Although we’re just beginning our journey together, it already feels great not feel so alone in this blogging business.
To help facilitate our blogging community, we’ve formed several “hives.” Each hive is like an online quilting bee, and I can’t wait to get to know my hivemates better. I’m so proud to announce the members of my hive, the Miss-Bee Hivin’s!

I am so grateful to Yvonne, Cheryl, and Stephanie for hosting the 2016 New Quilt Bloggers and for letting me participate. I know the experience will be not only helpful but a whole lot of fun. And you can count on me to be totally Miss-Bee Hivin! <grin>
