For the hop, we were to sew up something new for Halloween. A while back, I made a cute little mini shadow quilt, and ever since then, I’ve been wanting to do a version for Halloween. I call my quilt Dark Shadows.
This shadow quilt is my own design. I decided to enlarge the blocks in this version, to better feature my collection of Halloween fabrics. I also wanted to try nesting the squares, and seeing what kind of effect that had. I have to say, I like the results!
The quilting is simple because I wanted the squares to pop!
For a little zing, I used a striped binding. Don’t you just love it?
Here are the quilt details:
Original design by Jennifer Fulton
Size: 20" square
Pieced with Aurifil 50 wt. #5011
Quilted with Sulky 40 wt. #1168
Batting: Quilters Dream Request
Pieced and quilted by me!
We were also supposed to feature our favorite Halloween decoration in the hop. Mine is a quilt my bestie Alice made for me called Tiny Twisted Jack. Isn’t he wonderful?

Making Dark Shadows was one of my 2016 FAL goals for this quarter so I'm checking it off my massive list. Yippee!
